Make History Now - Two Friends & The Talking Drum
Saturday, February 27th at 8pm
Sunday, February 28th at 4pm
"Make History Now" is a depiction of Soul in Motion's 25 year history as told through an original African American Folktale written by Michael Friend and edited by Baba Jamal Koram. This presentation highlights new repertoire selesctions including traditional dances from Guinea, Yankadi/Makrew and Moribayassa, as interpreted by Soul in Motion's choreographer, Pam Lassiter Rhone. Ths story unfolds as griot, Baba Koram delivers the narration to a backdrop of pulsating rhythms and energetic dancing. |
