LaTanya Farrish Robinson, Arts Education Director, began working with the organization in the winter of 2004. She teaches hoop dance, jump rope and tumbling, after school. In addition, She is responsible for ensuring quality, affordable educational opportunities in dance and other arts for children through our programs after school and during the summer. She is a graduate of Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland. She provided in-home childcare for years (licensed in both Montgomery and Prince George s counties). She is a youth advocate, educator, and mentor. In the early 90 s, she led and developed creative art and personal development activities for at risk youth with her partners of non-profit youth outreach organization BusiWAM. She was the coordinator for several rights of passage performing arts summer programs. She worked with Bladensburg High School students by providing workshops focusing on self respect, job readiness and life skills. Over the last decade, Mrs. Robinson has volunteered with the Girl Scout Counsel of the Nation s Capitol. All she does demonstrates her passion for developing and nurturing the next generation. |
