Pa'lante Serie Cultural Latinoamericana presenta “A bombear se ha dicho” Taller Bomba con Ivelisse Diaz
Este taller será una introducción completa al género de música más antigua de Puerto Rico conocido como bomba. Al terminar el taller, los participantes tendrán un entendimiento básico de la historia de bomba, conocimiento básico de algunos pasos de baile y ciclos de percusión para los ritmos básicos de bomba, y comprensión de canto por medio de la práctica de coro. Este taller será facilitado por Ivelisse Díaz, directora de Las Bompleneras Unplugged, quien tiene más de 30 años de experiencia practicando y 15 años de experiencia enseñando bomba, y que nos visitan desde Chicago gracias a Semilla Cultural.

Pa’lante, la Serie Cultural Latinoamericana, exhibirá artistas de cultura Latinoamericana que existe en el área de Washington, DC, representando la gran variedad de regiones de Latinoamérica: desde Centroamérica al Caribe, de México a Sudamérica. Por medio de esta serie exploraremos la amplia diversidad de culturas Latinoamérica que se practican y conservan en nuestra región.
Pa'lante Serie Cultural Latinoamericana presents “A bombear se ha dicho” Bomba Workshop with Ivelisse Diaz
The workshop will provide a comprehensive introduction to the oldest musical genre in Puerto Rico known as bomba. Participants will leave with a basic understanding of the history of bomba, knowledge of the basic steps and percussive patterns to a few traditional bomba rhythms and a basic comprehension of chanting through coro. This workshop will be facilitated by Ivelisse Díaz, director of Las Bompleneras Unplugged, who has over 30 years of experience in practicing and 15 years of experience in teaching bomba, and who will be visiting us from Chicago thanks to Semilla Cultural.

Latin America is an expansive land full of vibrant life, culture, and music. Thanks to the Latin American diaspora, Latin American culture has been rapidly spreading to all parts of the world and is increasingly becoming part of the mainstream.
The Pa’lante: Latin American Cultural Series at Joe’s Movement Emporium will showcase the wide variety of Latin-made music and cultural expression based out of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, representing the wide variety of creative and cultural expressions stemming from different regions of Latin America: from Central America to the Caribbean, and from Mexico to South America. Through this series, we aim to explore the vast array of Latin American Cultures existing and thriving in our region.
