THE HOME IMPROVEMENT CAMPAIGN

The Challenge

From our humble beginning in a storefront studio in 1995, Joe’s sought to support the community with high quality, affordable programming that serves people of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs. Since opening a 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse in 2008, Joe’s has increasingly expanded its programming and services to meet the needs of artists and the community in general. Open 7 days a week, 350 days per year, Joe’s serves more than 70,000 individuals annually. Joe’s has developed a reputation as an affordable and accessible HOME for thousands of individuals and families seeking:

  • arts-based education and work readiness training,

  • a variety of classes and performances,

  • to book rehearsal space, and

  • to host their own special events, such as weddings, parties and memorial services.

This has put significant wear and tear on our HOME—and it shows. We are ready to IMPROVE our HOME so that all of us may continue to enjoy it for many years to come.

Thanks to you, we've already made some HOME improvements:

Below is a list of what we've accomplished so far during our HOME Improvement Campaign:

  • Upgraded security system

  • Fresh exterior paint on facility

  • Refinishing Studio floors

  • Installation of BRAND NEW theater floor!

But your HOME Improvement support is needed!

We still need to raise funds to cover costs of the above accomplishments and ensure we can:

  • upgrade lighting, sound and digital media in black-box theater;

  • upgrade the bathrooms repaint the façade; and

  • pave the parking lot.

With your generous support, Joe’s has an opportunity to capitalize on its popularity and on the very limited number of community facilities that can accommodate large dance parties and other performance-based events by renovating its black-box theater and other capital improvements that will enhance your HOME experience and safety.

Please make your tax-deductible contribution payable to Joe’s Movement Emporium and send it to 3309 Bunker Hill Road, Mount Rainier, Maryland 20712 or donate online at www.joesmovement.org.
