The unspoken stories of tragedy, survival and emancipation of people of color are told through the eyes of our youth. The lessons learned and the battles won will be told and experienced in honor of Black History Month.
Best known for their powerful and high energy dancing, unique choreography, and exceptional vocal harmonies, Taratibu Youth Association’s performers, ages 12 to 18, bring eclectic and diverse musical influences to modern dance, ballet, hip hop, and African dance traditions.

Taratibu is a dance form that combines traditional African and contemporary influences. Members of the Taratibu Youth Association discuss the history of the dance style, as well as the goal of their organization: to give young girls purpose, positivity, and a global connection to African history and culture.
