Film Summary:

An insightful bio-pic into the life and rise of Jean-Michel Basquiat, a young New York artist navigating a blooming pop art and neo-expressionist movement whose successes revolutionized his time and the perspective on underground art. Witness a journey of identity and the artistic work-life balance and its detriments of solace, mental health, and representation as a minority in the arts world of the 80s In spite of his success, this turbulent and talented young painter was also plagued by loneliness, self-destruction and the belief that people did not really accept him for who he was.
