Nanay (Nah-Nai', mother in Tagalog, Filipino Language) is an explorative dance production that brings awareness and attention to the mother wound—the pain passed down through generations of women in patriarchal cultures. Through dance, embodied storytelling, and personal interviews, Nanay seeks to help us reclaim our personal power and tap into the inner mother within ourselves.
Nanay is an interactive dance performance, open to all ages and backgrounds. The audience is invited to engage in a journal activity facilitated by the choreographer during the intermission. .
