Lauren DeVera and The Lion’s Den presents KINTSUGI
Lauren DeVera and The Lion’s Den are honored to present their first iteration of KINTSUGI, a showcase dedicated to uplifting DMV dance artists & building community through powerful and personal storytelling for this inaugural performance at Joe’s Movement Emporium on Friday, April 19th, and Saturday, April 20th.
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery; rather than discarding the pieces, the fragments are put back together with molten gold. There are no attempts to hide the damage, instead, it is emphasized and celebrated. The practice of Kintsugi is a reminder to us that there is beauty in our imperfections.
