CreativeWorks Storytelling Showcase

  • Joe’s Movement Emporium 3309 Bunker Hill Road Mount Rainier United States (map)

Please join us as our first cohort of CreativeWorkers share their stories.

An integral part of the CreativeWorks curriculum is storytelling. Led by the incredibly talented Cathy Smith, CreativeWorkers learn story structure, storytelling techniques, and ultimately share their stories in front of a live audience. Each of our CreativeWorkers has a unique, thoughtful, and compelling story that needs to be heard!

About CreativeWorks

CreativeWorks is a paid workforce-development program for Prince Georgians ages 17-24. There is a daytime program for youth who are out of high school and one-two evenings a week for high school seniors. Participants do not have to be a high school graduate to participate.

CreativeWorkers learn skills in theater tech (lighting, sound, stage management), digital media, music production, photography, videography, storytelling and more.

The program was created in 2008 in response to the high teen unemployment rate in Prince George’s County.
