Gentle Belly Dance with Jasmina Rae

Let your sensuality shine! Belly dance has been proven to be one of the best forms of movement and self-expression for the feminine body. The movements accentuate hips, thighs, arms, shoulders, chest, and other body parts. Isolating muscle groups around joints help improve arm and core strength, posture, flexibility, and balance. Belly dance is a low-impact, aerobic workout that increases circulation, relieves stress, and builds confidence.

The misconception that belly dance is performed by "loose women” for the titillation of men is far from the truth. Belly dance is a beautiful, ancient art form that gave women a channel to express themselves when they were repressed and segregated. They danced in the temples of Egypt to honor the goddesses. It is a healing, ceremonial dance that has been passed down through generations and is widely accepted at celebratory events such as weddings, birthdays, healing circles and other gatherings.

CLASS TIMES

Wednesdays IN-PERSON at 11:30 AM

Jasmina Rae, the instructor, a Senior who has been belly dancing for over 15 years, can attest to the health benefits of belly dance on the aging body. She teaches traditional and fusion style. She loves to share the beauty of the dance to help others open a portal to their inner goddess for self-expression without hesitancy due to doubt or locked up emotions. Her class is suitable for Seniors, new dancers, and anyone who wants to move like a Goddess.

Jasmina Rae performs at various venues with Troupe Malkia; Troupe Iyanu, a sword troupe; and Troupe Nebula under the tutelage of Ebony Qualls. She continues to be a student of belly dance by attending workshops in studios and online. Check out Jasmina Rae at www.sensualsoulbellydance.com or contact her at jasminarae@yahoo.com.
